Marine Collagen and the richness of Amino Acids

The collagen used comes from fish. A recent study ( J Agric Food Chem 55(4) 1532-1535 (2007) ) has shown that marine collagen is more easily assimilated than other collagen sources, such as porcine collagen. Collmar has a high percentage of glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline (the main amino acids in collagen), as well as essential amino acids.

The collagen used has undergone a unique process that breaks it down into smaller molecules, called peptides, making it more easily absorbed by the body. This process is carried out through enzymatic hydrolysis. This method breaks down the collagen in specific areas, facilitating its absorption.
