El organismo est\u00e1 formado mayoritariamente de prote\u00ednas, grasas y minerales, que componen nuestras estructuras: piel, \u00f3rganos, u\u00f1as, pelo, sangre, m\u00fasculos, hormonas, huesos, cart\u00edlagos, etc.\nPero apenas tenemos\u00a0 fuentes de carbohidratos en nuestro interior. En los m\u00fasculos, 1 \u00a0a 1\u20195% del peso muscular (en forma de gluc\u00f3geno muscular), en el h\u00edgado, de 10 a 12% del peso del h\u00edgado (como gluc\u00f3geno hep\u00e1tico y tambi\u00e9n la glucosa circulante en sangre). \u00c9stos se transforman en energ\u00eda para la pr\u00e1ctica del ejercicio f\u00edsico.\nCuando comemos carbohidratos, \u00e9stos van a<strong> generar \u00a0glucosa y liberar una hormona llamada insulina,<\/strong> producida por el p\u00e1ncreas en situaciones de hiperglucemia (glucosa alta en sangre).\nPor eso es muy importante controlar los tipos y la calidad de los carbohidratos que ingerimos en la dieta: si consumimos carbohidratos complejos (absorci\u00f3n lenta), m\u00e1s estable ser\u00e1 la glucosa en sangre, al paso que se consumimos carbohidratos simples (absorci\u00f3n r\u00e1pida) m\u00e1s glucosa entrar\u00e1 en el torrente sangu\u00edneo r\u00e1pidamente.\nDepende la intensidad y duraci\u00f3n de la pr\u00e1ctica deportiva, entre otros factores. Al hacer ejercicio f\u00edsico gastamos <strong>gluc\u00f3geno muscular<\/strong> como fuente de energ\u00eda (el anaer\u00f3bico gasta m\u00e1s glucosa que el aer\u00f3bico), entonces necesitamos aportar diferentes tipos de carbohidratos al cuerpo.\nNo obstante, podemos seguir unas orientaciones generales sobre el consumo de carbohidratos en la pr\u00e1ctica deportiva, que se pueden aplicar en cualquier caso.\n\n\n<h2>Antes del ejercicio: hidratos de asimilaci\u00f3n lenta<\/h2>\n\n\nAntes de practicar la actividad f\u00edsica es conveniente aportar carbohidratos complejos (de asimilaci\u00f3n lenta), para mantener la energ\u00eda durante la pr\u00e1ctica del ejercicio: cereales integrales, avena, quinoa, legumbres, frutos secos, frutas ricas en fibras, etc.\nEs importante hacer la \u00faltima ingesta con 2 horas de antelaci\u00f3n al inicio de la pr\u00e1ctica deportiva para aprovechar mejor los nutrientes. Es importante empezar la pr\u00e1ctica deportiva con los estoques de gluc\u00f3geno llenos, por lo tanto, tambi\u00e9n existen t\u00e9cnicas para hacer cargas de hidratos de carbono durante los d\u00edas previos a competiciones, pero esto ya es asunto para otro post.\n\n\n<h2>Durante el ejercicio: geles y barritas energ\u00e9ticas<\/h2>\n\n\nPara mejorar el desempe\u00f1o deportivo durante la actividad f\u00edsica, aumentado el tiempo hasta el agotamiento f\u00edsico, es necesario mantener los niveles de gluc\u00f3geno muscular.\nSi no existe una disponibilidad adecuada de glucosa durante el ejercicio, la intensidad de este disminuir\u00e1, ya que la energ\u00eda proveniente de la quema de las grasas y de las prote\u00ednas no genera tanta energ\u00eda por unidad de tiempo como los hidratos de carbono.\n\n\n<ul>\n \t\n\n<li>Lo ideal es tomar apenas agua si el ejercicio es de baja o\u00a0moderada intensidad y inferior a 1 hora<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Si es de alta intensidad y inferior a 1 hora se puede tomar bebidas isot\u00f3nicas o hipot\u00f3nicas<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Si es de alta intensidad y superior a 1 hora para la mayor comodidad del deportista se puede recurrir a suplementos diet\u00e9ticos, como <strong>bebidas con carbohidratos de r\u00e1pida absorci\u00f3n y geles<\/strong> conteniendo diferentes tipos de az\u00facares (dextrosa, maltodextrina, palatinose, fructosa), amino\u00e1cidos<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Si es superior a 2 horas y media, adem\u00e1s de hidratarse, se puede comer alimentos s\u00f3lidos como frutas deshidratadas o liofilizadas, <strong>barritas energ\u00e9ticas<\/strong>, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n<h2>Despu\u00e9s del ejercicio: hidratos de asimilaci\u00f3n r\u00e1pida<\/h2>\n\n\nAl acabar el ejercicio, para reabastecer los niveles de gluc\u00f3geno con m\u00e1s eficiencia, es importante consumir \u00a0carbohidratos de r\u00e1pida <strong>absorci\u00f3n en las primeras horas tras finalizar<\/strong> el entrenamiento: pl\u00e1tano, melocot\u00f3n, uvas pasas, bebidas energ\u00e9ticas azucaradas con vitaminas y minerales, zumo de frutas, <strong>barritas energ\u00e9ticas,<\/strong> \u00a0etc.\nDespu\u00e9s, se puede acompa\u00f1ar de una fuente de prote\u00edna magra o batido de prote\u00edna. \u00a1La correcta rehidrataci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n es fundamental!\nSi deseas saber m\u00e1s sobre nutrici\u00f3n deportiva, visita regularmente nuestra secci\u00f3n del blog <a href=\"http:\/\/yomecuidoyque.com\/deporte\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deporte<\/a>.\n&nbsp;\nBibliograf\u00eda\nBean, Anita. <em>La Gu\u00eda Completa de la Nutrici\u00f3n del Deportista<\/em>. 4\u00ba ed.
